Chinese Language Teacher’s Certificate or Credential
You have mastered the language, so you want to be a Chinese language teacher? Many of our past graduates have obtained the certificates from the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), the governing office composed members from 12 Chinese State ministries and commissions. Currently, all Chinese as Foreign Language teachers in China have to be licensed by the office. Meanwhile, Hanban is also managing all official Chinese teachers sent by Chinese government to other countries.
In early 2008, the Hanban office is scheduled to announce the official International Chinese Language Teachers’ Standard, in which one of our colleague is among the expert committee. The standard is expected to be adopted by most countries to substitute their current standards, including those used by many US schools. Given our past experience and close working relationship with Hanban, we will be the first to adopt the standard and will give you an edge in the fierce competition to pass the new standard.
At the same time, we can also provide you the necessary training and preparation for ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview in Mandarin Chinese, the de facto standard of Chinese Language proficiency standard in US. Many state agencies and school districts require an intermediate-high or advanced-low level to qualify teaching Chinese. College credit with Chinese Language
Do you know that you can earn college credit by demonstrating your proficiency on a foreign language? Currently, there are two popular tests that are NYU Mandarin 16-point Proficiency Exam or ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview in Mandarin Chinese. The NYU exam will issue an official letter with your proficiency level to your designated institute while ACTFL will provide you an official transcript from American Council on Education (ACE). Both are recognized by the majority of US and foreign colleges and universities, and can be converted to up to 12 college credits.
